Reducing Telegram Spam
My biggest gripe with Telegram is the spam. These three changes help a lot - spam accounts won’t be able to find you or add you to groups unless you’ve added them as a contact yourself.
Open Telegram → Settings → Privacy and Security:
1. Phone Number
- “Who can see my phone number” → Nobody
- “Who can find me by my number” → My Contacts
2. Groups and Channels
- “Who can add me” → My Contacts (or Nobody)
3. Calls
- “Who can call me” → My Contacts
